Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

The privacy of your information matters to us. This privacy policy explains what information we collect and how we use it as part of our engine remapping business. We respect your privacy and take appropriate measures to keep the information we collect secure.

2. Data we collect

We collect the data you provide: contact details (name, email, phone), information about your vehicle (make, model, registration, chassis number) and the details of your booking requests. When a customer account is created, we also keep the history of your services (tuning maps, measured gains) and your invoices.

Regardless of what you send us, simply browsing the site triggers an automatic collection of technical data by our audience measurement and advertising tools. It is described in section 5.

3. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to handle your requests, carry out and follow up on services, and meet our legal obligations (invoicing, accounting). It is never sold or shared with third parties.

4. Use of WhatsApp

This site includes a WhatsApp button that lets visitors contact us directly through that app. Conversations on WhatsApp are governed by WhatsApp's terms of use and privacy policy. We do not record the data exchanged via WhatsApp ourselves. We do measure the fact that a contact button was clicked, without knowing who clicked it or what was written afterwards.

5. Audience measurement and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, provided by Google Ireland Limited. These tools place cookies in your browser and automatically collect technical data: IP address (truncated before storage), device and browser type, operating system, pages viewed, time spent, where the visit came from, and the approximate region derived from the IP address.

We also measure clicks on our contact buttons (WhatsApp and phone), so we know which pages and which ads actually bring in enquiries.

This data serves two purposes only: understanding how the site is used, and measuring how effective our ads are. It is neither sold nor passed on to third parties for commercial purposes. We only access it as aggregated statistics; we do not try to identify visitors individually.

How to opt out: you can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on offered by Google, or browse in private mode. The site remains fully usable in every case.

This data may be transferred to Google servers located in the United States.

6. Retention periods

Invoices and accounting records are kept for 10 years, as required by Swiss commercial law. Your customer-account data (vehicles, service history, files) is kept for as long as your account is active. Booking requests are anonymized when you delete your account.

Data collected by Google Analytics is kept for the period set in our configuration, then deleted automatically.

7. Your rights

In accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP), and with the European regulation (GDPR) where it applies, you can at any time request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, as well as object to its processing.

From your customer area, the “Settings” section lets you delete your account yourself: your personal data is then anonymized, while the invoices and documents we are legally required to keep are retained in a form dissociated from your identity.

8. Contact and data controller

The data controller is Mperf Engineering. For any question about your data or to exercise your rights, write to us at contact@mperf.ch, or use the details on the Contact page.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

This policy may be amended at any time to reflect changes in our services, in the technologies we use, or in legislation. If a substantial change is made, we will update this page.

Terms of Use

1. Introduction

These terms of use govern the use of this website. By accessing and using this site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use this site.

2. Services

Mperf Engineering provides engine remapping and related services. Every service is agreed in advance and carried out by appointment only. The information needed to deliver these services is collected directly through forms or in conversation with the customer.

3. Reversibility and original file

The original ECU file is backed up before any work is carried out and can be restored on request.

4. Track / export use

Some options (EGR, DPF, CAT, AdBlue, VMAX off) are reserved for track / export use only and are not road-legal in Switzerland. The customer alone is responsible for how the vehicle is used.

5. Use of WhatsApp

Clicking the WhatsApp button takes you to the WhatsApp app to chat with us directly. We collect no data beyond what is exchanged via WhatsApp, in line with their terms of use.

6. Intellectual property

All content on this site, including text, images and graphics, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Reproducing or distributing this content without authorisation is prohibited.

7. Limitation of liability

We accept no liability for damage resulting from the use of this site or from being unable to access it. Furthermore, we do not guarantee the results of engine remapping beyond the specifications agreed with the customer.

8. Changes to these terms of use

We reserve the right to amend these terms at any time. By continuing to use this site after such changes, you accept the revised terms.

Vehicle data

The vehicle data (makes, models, generations, engines) comes from the open dataset vehicle-makes-models, itself compiled from publicly available information on autoevolution.com. It has been modified for this site (fuels grouped, variants merged, labels and body styles standardised). The original dataset is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0.

Remapping and compliance in Switzerland

Read this before any work is carried out.

Any change to the power output of a vehicle registered in Switzerland must be declared to your cantonal road traffic office and recorded in the vehicle registration document, after a subsequent inspection. This obligation applies whatever the gain: it does not depend on a threshold.

The extent of the checks, on the other hand, does depend on the gain. Above roughly a 20% increase, the inspection no longer covers only the engine and emissions, but also braking, road behaviour and the transmission.

A modified vehicle that has not been declared exposes its owner to withdrawal of the registration document, a fine, and refusal of cover by their comprehensive insurance.

Our position is simple: we would rather tell you what can be approved for your vehicle before we work on it than let you find out at an inspection. Just ask — it is free and it is part of the quote.

So-called “OFF” services

DPF, EGR, AdBlue/SCR, catalytic converter, Vmax and Start & Stop deactivations remove or neutralise emission-control or regulation devices required by law. They are not permitted on a vehicle driven on public roads in Switzerland.

We only carry out this work on vehicles intended exclusively for closed-circuit use or for export, and only against a written statement from the customer confirming that purpose.

Scope of this information

The above is provided for guidance only and may change. Only the competent cantonal authorities can rule on whether a given vehicle is compliant. We encourage you to check with your cantonal road traffic office before any work is carried out.
