The duration depends on the type of preparation and your vehicle model. Here is an estimate based on the level of modification: Stage 1: between 1 and 4 hours, including electronic diagnostics, remapping, and road testing. Stage 2: requires leaving the vehicle at the workshop for at least one full day to perform the necessary mechanical and electronic adjustments. Stage 3: available only on request. A properly executed remapping does not damage the engine or gearbox. It respects the tolerances defined by the manufacturer and intelligently exploits the vehicle’s potential. It is essential that the vehicle is in good general condition before the intervention. We never modify engine safety limits or mechanical protections. However, a poorly done remapping can indeed cause damage to the ECU or engine. This is why, at Mperf Engineering, we guarantee proper operation: every vehicle is tested, validated, and checked before being returned to the customer.

We validate performance through log reading and analysis — the method that tells you how the engine behaves, and not just how much it produces at a given moment. Boost pressure, injection, ignition timing: these data measure the gains obtained precisely, provided they are interpreted correctly. All our files are created with log readings and confirmed on a dyno when we have access to one. For an ECU we have never worked on before, we may keep the vehicle a bit longer to perform more in‑depth logs and adjust the file with precision. You leave with a before / after report of the readings: pressure, injection, ignition. And if you want the figure, nothing stops you from running your vehicle on a dyno after the work. The results are generally very close: within ±3% of the announced figures. Example: If we announce 300 hp and 500 Nm, the real measurements will be between 290 and 310 hp, and between 490 and 510 Nm.
